Terms & Conditions for all customers at Sells Lake Ranch

Waiver and Release of Liability

All people and horses entering into our programs waive and release all liability on behalf of facilities owner, owner’s insurance policy, and all other associated parties.

Upon payment you agree to hold harmless any claims including but not limited to injury to horse or rider, property damage, wrongful death, or any other loss associated with any occurrences on the property including negligence.

For any and all horse and riders entering our boarding and training program located at 1796 Plum Street, Mora, MN 55051 upon payment agrees to these terms and conditions as follows.

Safety First:

Our number one focus is the safety and well being of the horses, horse owners, riders, and guests. Helmet Policy:

While riding on the property use of a helmet is strongly recommended to everyone and is required for all those under the age of 18.

Supervision Policy:

Anyone under the age of 18 years old is required to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Care and Custody Policy:

Horses and riders entering our training or boarding programs are required to have horses up to date of vaccinations and proof of negative coggins.

Horses in training will have farrier care at the discretion of the facility owner and will be billed to the horse owner. Riders and horse owners assume and understand that all other care or special care is their responsibility and that facility assumes no liability while your horse is present at the facility. Private Facility Policy: Our facility is private, available to its valued customers only, if you are engaged as a customer and would like to share an experience with someone else, all guests must be approved by facility owner and accept these terms and condtions before entering property. Horses in training will be made available for wellness checks weekly: offered on Sundays. All other facility visits are to be addressed as lessons and will be at a rate of $49.00 per lesson and will need to be scheduled in advance. The goal of maintaining privacy will minimize interruptions to horses and riders in training.

Boarding Agreement: Boarding is paddock board, with shelter. Grain is provided daily, forage typically round bales, and water is provided. Your horse may share a paddock with up to two other horses, horses may change paddocks based on various contributing factors to horse safety. All other care for horses including but not limited to farrier, vetting, blanketing, special chores etc. is the responsibility of its owner. Board is due on the first day of every month. Late payments may result in termination of the boarding agreement.

Accepted Horses: unstarted horses between the ages of 2 and 4 years old, finish training on horses that were started under saddle at Sells Lake Ranch, tune ups for seasoned trained horses that need conditioning and tuning.

***we do not accept bad behavior or problem horses, horses that require special care or treatment, or horses with known health problems.***

Training: Horses in training are stall boarded. Grain, hay, and water is provided. Payment for horses in training is due at the beginning of each 30 days.

Warranty of ownership: Upon payment the owner warrants that they are in fact the sole and lawful owner of each horse.

Fees: Paddock board is $250.00 per month per horse. Horse training is $795.00 per month per horse. Horse and rider lessons are $49.00 per lesson. The length of the lesson is dependent on the physical and mental ability of the horse and rider determined by the instructor. Additional Fees: Additional fees may apply if the facility owner finds horses are in need of care or emergency care if horse owner neglects care, or are unavailable. Additional fees must be received by facility owner within 30 calendar days.

Agreement termination: All agreements may be terminated with a 30 day written notice for any reason. All payments due must be processed before the horse leaves the facility.

Personal Property: Facility in no way assumes responsibility for personal property including but not limited to damage, theft, or any other occurrences resulting in loss of personal property.

Property Damage: Any damage to facility whether from horse, rider, or guest must be reported to the facility owner. All costs associated with damage may be billed to the horse owner for replacement.

Risk of Loss: Horse and Rider assume all risk of loss or injury, and agree to not take any legal actions or claims against the facility in the event of any injury or loss to both horse and riders. All horse owners understand that insurance of themselves and their horses is solely their responsibility

Violation of Rules: Violation of policies may result in termination of agreements within ten business days. Policy changes: Any policy changes will be addressed with a 30 day notice for any changes in terms, conditions, or pricing.

Upon payment you understand and agree to all terms listed in this agreement. Your participation and cooperation in our programs will help with keeping pricing to a minimum as well as creating an atmosphere where we can focus on the safety and conditions of what we all enjoy, good people and good horses!
